Pastor Tom Baker
Christ Lutheran invited Pastor Tom and his family to join them in July 2007. Morden, Manitoba is very familiar to Tom since it is the very place where he had been born, had grown up, and had even graduated from Morden Collegiate Institute.
After graduation from MCI, Tom moved to Regina, SK and eventually graduated from Ambrose University College (formerly known as Canadian Bible College/Canadian Theological Seminary) in 1993. That same year, Tom married his wonderful wife, Cara-Lynn.
In 1994, Tom & Cara-Lynn had moved to Fort St. John, BC where Tom had served with the FSJ Alliance Church for 11 years as their youth pastor. In Fort St. John, both of Tom & Cara-Lynn’s children were born (Steven & Joey). In 2007, the Baker 4 accepted the call to serve with the Christ Lutheran Church of Morden, returning back home to the Prairies.
And how has the return gone? To quote Tom: ‘It is a most surreal experience being back in the very town that I had been born and raised in. It is kind of like a coming full circle for Cara and I and sons love being in Morden too. Adding to all this, I am also the pastor of the church which is really my home church. I had been baptized at Christ Lutheran. I was introduced to Jesus by the wonderful people of Christ Lutheran. It has been an amazing journey for our family and we are grateful that God has brought us to Christ Lutheran, to Morden. God is so good.’
We invite you to join us on a Sunday. Christ Lutheran is a small church with a very big heart. We thank God for where we are today and for the awesome privilege it is to live in His wonderful grace and to share His love in our church, city and area.
Blessings To You,
Christ Lutheran Council
